Allen Bradley 1398-DDM-009X

The Allen-Bradley 1398-DDM-009X is a Servo Drive from the Ultra 100 Series. This servo drive is a This drive is a 1000 Watt Universal Indexing Drive, that requires an input supply voltage of 100-240 VAC, 1-Phase @ 50/60 Hz frequency. Additionally, it requires an AC input current of 9 Arms and bus voltage of 141-339VDC. This drive delivers an output peak current of 15 Amperes while the continuous output current (peak) is 5 Amperes. The bus capacitance energy absorption is 51 Joules from 325-400 Vdc Bus.

At 120VAC input, the drive’s peak power output is 1.3 kWatts and 0.6 kWatts continuous power output while for 240 VAC input, the peak power output is 2.7 kWatts and continuous power output of 1.2 kWatts. It has a rated power dissipation of 48 Watts which does not include the external shunt regulator.

This drive comes with selectable input and outputs. Configurable digital inputs are Drive Mode Select, Integrator Inhibit, Follower Enable, Forward Enable, Reverse Enable, Operation Mode Override, Preset Selects, Start Index, Define Home, Remove Command Offset, and Start Homing Sensor. For digital outputs, the configurable parameters are In-Position, Within Window, Zero Speed, Speed Window, ± Current Limit, Up To Speed, Drive Enabled, Bus Charged, Disabling Motion, In Motion, In Dwell, Sequence Complete, Registered, At Home and Axis Homed.

This drive comes with a single RS232 interface located at the J5 connector. This port can be used to communication with programming workstation for configuration of the drive. It also has J1 terminal for designated for drive enable and reset fault inputs and external 12-24VDC power supply. Encoder connection is terminated at terminal J2 and incoming supply is wired to terminal strip TB1.

The 1398-DDM-009X is equipped with 4 selectable digital inputs and an optically isolated, 4.5mA nominal ENABLE input with 1.5 milliseconds minimum ON time. It has two selectable and one dedicated relay output (BRAKE and DRIVE READY at 1.0A/100mA nominal open relay).
