About 1398-DDM-005

The Allen-Bradley 1398-DDM-005 ULTRA 100™ is a servo drive that has a compact size. The ULTRA 100™ Family is a part of The 1398 ULTRA ™ Series of servo drives. In this module, the display uses a 3-level LED display on its front panel. This module is the lightest drive in the 1398 ULTRA ™ Series at 3.7 lbs. The speed control of this module ranges from 0-32.767 RPM. The maximum heat dissipation of this module is about 48W. The 1398-DDM-005 has an AC input voltage of 100-240V AC (RMS) single-phase at 43-63 Hz. The 1398-DDM-005 has an AC input current of 5A. The bus voltage for all drives in the Ultra 100 series is 141-339V DC. The DC bus capacitor can withstand a high voltage after the incoming power has been released, but it will usually discharge in a few seconds.

The Allen-Bradley 1398-DDM-005 has several features including an I/O digital channel that allows users to program the drive to fit the user's desired applications, a touchpad to monitor and modify the drive, and a self-diagnosis feature that can detect faults. This module also has bus overvoltage protection and bus undervoltage protection. The 1398-DDM-005 supports Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). The power for the I/O should be provided by an external power source of 12-24V DC. Remember to do periodic maintenance. One of the necessary maintenance treatments is to clean dust and dirt out of the inside of the module. Always check the state of the cable insulation and connections.
