Allen Bradley 1398-PDM-020

The 1398-PDM-020 is a single-axis positioning and digital servo drive that is designed to offer high-performance and flexible operation for a wide range of applications. This digital servo drive combines drive and control functionality to make a powerful axis for the motion controller.

The 1398-PDM-020 operates best at a temperature between 23 - 131 Deg. Fahrenheit, and it can be stored at a temperature between -40 and 158 Deg. Fahrenheit. The surrounding relative humidity for both operation and storage should be between 5 and 95% non-condensing. The 1398-PDM-020 can function at an altitude as high as 5000 feet above sea level without de-rating. During operation, its vibration is 10-2000 Hz at 2g, and it can take a maximum shock of 15g. It weighs 15 pounds.

The 1398-PDM-020 is environmentally rugged and has peak torque, high acceleration, and high-speed point positioning. Its I/O include one 12-bit DAC output, one 8-bit DAC programmable monitor output, and one 10-bit ADC input.

To operate this drive module, the PDM must be supplied with a line voltage of 100-240VAC with frequency of 50-60Hz. It delivers continuous shunt power of 50 W, peak shunt power of 4.5 kW, Continuous shunt external power of 2.4 kW and peak shunt external power output of 6 kW. This PDM is compatible with a variety of brushless AC servo motor such as F-Series, H-Series and N-Series motors.

The 1398-PDM-020 comes with a variety of input terminals such as Serial 1 auxilliary port, Serial 2 computer port, Encoder 1 input, and Encoder 2 auxilliary input. Additionally, it has P1 connectors assigned for Discrete inputs, P2 for Discrete input and output, and P3 for Analog input and output.
