Allen Bradley 1336-CONV-SP5A

The 1336-CONV-SP5A is a conversion kit from Allen-Bradley. The kit includes a gate drive printed circuit board, an inductor, and a pre-charged SCR. The 1336-CONV-SP5A is meant for use in adjustable frequency drives with a capacity rating of 25 Horsepower and a voltage rating not exceeding 460 Volts AC. The 1336-CONV-SP5A belongs to the series C of Allen-Bradley’s 1336 spare parts/conversion kit. Some of the contents of the conversion kit, like the gate drive PCB, contains components that can be damaged if exposed to static electricity. Therefore, the grounding should be observed when using the 1336-CONV-SP5A conversion kit. The 1336-CONV-SP5A is used to upgrade a Series A adjustable frequency drive to a Series C drive.

Additionally, the 1336-CONV-SP5A upgrade kit can be used to upgrade a Series B variable frequency drive to a Series C drive. The 1336-CONV-SP5A kit replaces the 1336-BDB-SP5A, which Allen-Bradley no longer manufactures. However, the two are compatible and the 1336-CONV-SP5A can be used in place of the now obsolete 1336-BDB-SP5A. As a rule of thumb, all Allen-Bradley drives and kits should be serviced, replaced, and installed when the power to the drive is locked out to ensure that no damage or injury occurs. The 1336-CONV-SP5A upgrade kit should be stored within the rated temperature when not in use. On receiving the conversion kit, as with any other equipment meant to be used on the industrial floor, it should be properly examined to ensure that every component of the drive has no physical signs of damage. Before use, individual components of the 1336-CONV-SP5A should be individually tested for functionality.
