Allen Bradley 1336-CAP-SP4A

The 1336-CAP-SP4A is a bus capacitor for the 1336 series of drives, manufactured by Allen Bradley. The 1336-CAP-SP4A has a rating of 575 Volts and is suited for 7.5 HP and 10 HP drives. The 1336-CAP-SP4A kit consists of 3 capacitors; the 1336 series is a variable frequency AC drive series, combined with the PLUS and IMPACT series. Between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius is the recommended operating range for the 1336-CAP-SP4A. The operating humidity of the device should be between 5 and 95%, non-condensing. It is recommended to maintain the operating temperature of the device as operating the device in increased temperature may lead to a shortened life expectancy of the device. It can withstand a shock of a 15G peak for an 11-millisecond duration. It is important to note that when replacing the capacitor, the power to the device is switched OFF and the capacitor to be replaced is fully discharged, since even after the power is turned off, the capacitor will hold a charge which, if touched, may cause an electric shock. The 1336-CAP-SP4A is UL listed and CSA certified, as well as being CE approved.

The 1336-CAP-SP4A should be replaced only by someone who is trained and qualified to do so. This person will need to follow the safety precautions as stated by the manufacturer when replacing the 1336-CAP-SP4A; if the instructions are not closely followed, damage to the equipment may occur; improper installation can also cause a high voltage electric shock. The user will need to measure the voltage between the “+” and “-” terminals of the DC bus; the meter reading should be zero, meaning that the capacitors are discharged and there is no risk of shock.
