About 1336-BDB-SP30C

The 1336-BDB-SP30C PCB is an Allen-Bradley spare part kit which contains a gate drive PCB (printed circuit board). It is a spare part for 100 Horsepower rated drives that operate at 460 Volts AC input voltage. The 1336-BDB-SP30C PCB is obsolete and it has been replaced by the 1336-BDB-SP30D PCB. Specifically, the 1336-BDB-SP30C PCB is compatible with 100 Horsepower Frame D drives from the Allen-Bradley 1336 PLUS, PLUS II, FORCE, and IMPACT drive series. The main function of a gate drive PCB is to produce a high-current drive output from low-power input. The gate drive server is an interface between the control signals and power switches. Allen-Bradley 1336 series drives are solid-state drives that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge. It is essential to protect AC drives against electrostatic discharge to prevent device failure and malfunctioning.

While replacing a faulty gate drive PCB with the 1336-BDB-SP30C PCB, precautions which protect against electrostatic discharge should be followed. The most important precaution that needs to be followed is the use of grounded wrist straps. The wrist strap should be worn before beginning work and a secure connection to ground should be ensured. The ground lead of the wrist strap should provide a high resistance path to ground. Another recommended precaution is to work in a static-safe area which includes the following: a workbench covered with a grounded conductive surface, a work area that is clear of nonconductive materials, and covering the floor of the work area with grounded conductive material. Another important precaution is the use of static-shielded containers for storing drive components before and after repair.
