sAbout 1305-BA09A-HAP
With Volts / Hertz control, the Voltage and Frequency is maintained which in turn produces a constant torque output. With the capability of having a constant torque control, this drive is compatible with applications that exhibits minimal load changes or if the torque required for a certain mechanical actuator is fixed. Such control system includes fans, pumps and damper applications.
This drive may also be integrated in control systems that implement Proportional+ Integral+ Derivative (PID) algorithm to act as Final Control Element (FCE). Some of PID capable devices are Single Loop, Multi-loop or universal controllers and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
With an integrated control application, this adjustable AC frequency drive from Allen-Bradley may be used in simplex, duplex or triplex pump installations. With these application type, the drive may be programmed to run within a pre-determined time with the pumps automatically changing duty cycles.
To enable the VFD to perform such function, the AC drive’s built-in I/O in terminal TB2 must be utilized. The terminal TB2 has Eight (8) Discrete Inputs, Two (2) Analog Inputs, Two (2) Discrete Outputs and One (1) Analog Output. It also has One (1) Potentiometer input.
The discrete inputs are intended for basic motor control commands such as START / STOP, JOG, FORWARD / REVERSE, REMOTE / LOCAL, AUTOMATIC / MANUAL commands. The analog inputs are designed to accepts 0-10VDC, 4-20mA and resistance input ranging from 1-10k Ohms. The purpose of the analog input is to provide speed reference which serves as the speed control reference. The discrete outputs are implemented to provide motor drive status feedback such as RUN / FAULT or some other programmable status. The single analog output is primarily designed to provide speed feedback.
The Allen-Bradley 1305-BA09A-HAP is a 1305 AC drive. Its nominal current rating is 9A. The Human Interface Module for this type of AC drive has a Programmer Only function. Specifications for its output ratings include a 3-phase Voltage output of 0-460VAC with 4kW (5HP) power. An output current of 9.0 0A is listed for 380V input voltage, at 415V AC input voltage, the output current is 8.4A while at 460V input voltage, the corresponding output current is 7.6A. The Allen-Bradley 1305-BA09A-HAP has 380-460V AC 3-phase input voltage at 50-60Hz. The operating voltage range is between 340 and 500V AC at 47-63 Hz and it has a typical efficiency of 97.5% with a 0.8 power factor. It has a large power dissipation of up to 107W and an input kVA of 7 AC. The dynamic braking torque without an external resistor is 20% and it is 100% with an external resistor. The 1305-BA09A-HAP has current limiting of 150% for 60 seconds and of 200% for 2 seconds.
