The 1305-BA09A-HA2 is Allen-Bradley adjustable frequency AC drive delivers excellent speed control with an outstanding torque control output throughout the drives speed range. This AC drive which other technical personnel may refer to as a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), Variable Speed Drive (VSD) or Adjustable Speed Drive (ASD) enables a AC induction motor to be controlled with modulating speed aside from the basic ON/OFF, FORWARD / REVERSE, JOG, LOCAL / REMOTE and AUTO / MANUAL control.

With AC drives such as this one by Allen-Bradley, controlling the motor in discrete manner is possible by setting the speed of motor from 0Hz to 100Hz. The speed command will not be effective when the Start command to the Motor is not provided with an appropriate signal. The Start Command will not be effective if the motor is not provided with a frequency reference. With AC drives, motor control starting and stopping capability are improved as well.

The Allen-Bradley 1305-BA09A-HA2 drive is a 1305 series AC drive with 3-phase 380 to 460 Volts AC input voltage. This 1305 device seamlessly aligns with AC motors for enabling dynamic AC motor performance, and it increases the overall reliability of the whole system. The power rating of this AC drive is 5.0 Horsepower (4.0 kilowatts). The drive’s output current is 9.0 Amps at 380 Volts AC, 8.4 Amps at 415 Volts AC, and 7.6 Amps at 460 Volts AC. The 1305-BA09A-HA2 drive should be mounted on a metallic surface with at least 2 inches of space on all sides for proper air circulation an cooling of the unit. The Allen-Bradley 1305-BA09A-HA2 drive is delivered in an IP 30 rated housing with a Human Interface Module (HIM) that has a digital up and down keys. As this drive is included with a Human Interface Module (HIM), the configuration or operational instructions may be entered directly through this component. HIM is only used for local operation thus, to access this component, the local enclosure for the drive must be opened. If this is not ideal, there are 1305 Drive accessories that may be used to remotely mount the HIM component to the front door or swing panel of an enclosure.

Aside from the HIM, the drive may be controlled by external commands though hardwired signaling components such as pushbuttons, switches and other devices. These components are hardwired to the drive’s TB2 terminal which are then provided with an appropriate drive parameter.
