About 20-COMM-H
The 20-COMM-H is a PowerFlex Architecture Class RS-485 HVAC-to-DPI Communication Adapter. The module is manufactured by Rockwell Automation and it is a Powerflex AC Drive user-installed spare part. The 20-COMM-H is typically connected to or mounted to the PowerFlex 7 drive series. The mounting is done through the use of captive screws that are grounded to the drive. The 20-COMM-H is also usable on the other Allen-Bradley products that feature support for the DPI or the drive peripheral interface adapter. The 20-COMM-H comes with good compatibility to a wide array of configuration tools. These include the PowerFlex HMI that is mounted on the respective drive where the 20-COMM-H is installed.
It comes with status indicators that help to report the functional status of the drive communication adapter. The status indicators also help in monitoring the functionality of the DPI connector and the actual network connection status. It comes with a network selector switch. The switch is used for selecting the network protocol to which the adapter operates. The 20-COMM-H features parameter-configurable I/O logic commands or references. These are designed to meet the application requirements, ensuring maximum functionality. The drive also comes with switches that allow for the setting of the node address before applying power to the drive. The switches can also be deactivated and used for configuring the node address. A switch lets the users select the network protocol. The users can use up to 3 network protocols including the Modbus, Metasys, and also the Siemens Building Technique.
