About 1336-L6
The 1336-L6 is an optional component that is compatible for use with Allen-Bradley 1336 adjuststable frequency AC drive family. Specific drives that may use this option component include Plus, Plus II, Impact and Force drives.
This component may be included as a pre-installed option to the 1336 drive by specifying “L6” to the drives catalog number such as 1336x-xxxxxx-xx-xx-L6. This component may also be installed at a later time and ordered separately. It is mounted to the drive’s main control board to provide 115 VAC control interface. As a precaution when installing this component, the drive must be powered off and capacitors must be drained prior to hardware modification.
Additionally, this option component is also compatible with Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) modules such as 1771-OA, 1771-OAD, 1771-OW and 1771-OWN. This option component has Nine (9) control inputs, however, cannot be attached with an encoder. The function of each input is assignable through the drive’s L Option mode.
To determine the type of L Option mode for the application, the user must identify the type of Start/Stop required as well as the remaining control functions such as 1st Accel, 1st Decel, Common, Enable, Forward, Jog, Local, Ramp and many other functions that is defined in the particular 1336 drive user manual.
L6 option board must be able to operate with High = True logic. At LOW state, the signal is not more that 30VAC and leakage current should ne less that 10 mA. The HIGH state is triggered at a voltage level of 90-115VAC +/- 10%.
The Allen-Bradley 1336-L6 is the logic interface board for the main control boards on the 1336 PLUS / PLUS II series AC drives. It is available as a spare part and is not repairable. 1336 PLUS and PLUS II series drives are available for 0.5 to 600 Horsepower (0.37 to 448 kW) output power ratings. The location of the 1336-L6 logic interface board is on the main drive control board, beneath the programming/display board. It provides a method of interfacing different commands and signals to the drive by means of contact closures. Six separate versions of the logic interface board are available. The 1336-L6 provides a 115 Volts AC interface. Inputs to the 1336-L6 are made through connections on Terminal Block 3 (TB3). The 1336-L6 has nine control inputs and the function of each can be selected through programming. The 1336-L6 does not support encoder feedback. The operating temperature range for the 1336-L6 is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius (32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit) at 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity. The board is conformally coated to protect the board from moisture and chemical contaminants in the environment. To prevent operator injury and equipment damage, supplied power to the drive should be removed before any maintenance activities - including board replacement and wire connection/disconnection - are performed. Since drive components are also vulnerable to electrostatic discharge, standard precautions for static control should be followed at all times.
