Allen Bradley 1336-GM1 Used Surplus

The 1336-GM1 Board is an optional interface module designed by Allen Bradley. Its purpose is to provide a digital connection from a programmable controller to a SCANport product from Allen Bradley.  Unlike other remote I/O communications modules from the company, it is an open-type module and its power comes from the drive. The 1336-GM1 board connects directly to a SCANport device. It has an internal connector to link with the SCANport device and a Remote I/O connector for the Remote I/O cable. It is compatible with 1336 IMPACT Drive, 1336 PLUS AC Drive, 1336 PLUS II Drive, and the 1336 FORCE Drive. The board comes with DIP switches that allow the user to configure how the module performs before it connects to the board. The user can also program how the DIP switches react whenever there are communication errors. It has LED indicators that show the condition of the module, SCANport device, and link.    

Before installing the 1336-GM1, it is important to read the safety precautions of the manual. The manual also includes the steps for configuring the module via the DIP switches and creating a ladder logic program to communicate with the SCANport device. Just like other communications module from Allen Bradley, the 1336-GM1 contains Electrostatic Discharge sensitive parts. It is important to use static control precautions to ensure the board is safe during the installation of the module. Only personnel familiar with SCANport devices and related machinery should plan or install the 1336-GM1 module. Failure to comply with safety regulations can result in injury, as well as damage to the equipment.
