The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1305-KBA06 dynamic brake kit is an accessory that users can add to their Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1305 adjustable frequency AC drives for custom applications. The 1305-KBA06 dynamic brake kit is designed to stop a motor or a drive quickly or to enable a controller that is attached to the drive or motor to slow down or stop the device intermittently at 150% power. Note that the 1305-KBA06 dynamic brake kit should only be used with Series B Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1305 adjustable frequency drives, and never with Series A drives. To activate this dynamic braking kit, set the 1305 drive’s dynamic braking (DB) switch to the “Enable” position.
The Allen-Bradley 1305-KBA06 dynamic brake kit ships in separate pieces with several accessories for installation, including a DB base driver assembly, a DB resistor assembly, 3 wire harnesses, 2 gaskets, 2 Keps nuts, and a CSLA board. When installing this dynamic brake kit, disconnect the power to the Allen-Bradley 1305 adjustable frequency AC drive that the brake kit will be installed in, and make sure that all of the voltage and static have discharged from the drive and all of its parts. Adjustments can be made to the 1305-KBA06 dynamic brake kit at any time after it has been installed, and they can be made while the power to the brake kit and the host 1305 drive are powered on. There is hazardous voltage in the drive and the brake kit, so the users must make all necessary adjustments to the dynamic brake kit with extreme caution.
