About 20-750-UFB-1
The Allen-Bradley 20-750-UFB-1 module is a PowerFlex 750 universal feedback option module. Only PowerFlex 755 drives support the 20-750-UFB-1 module when the safe speed monitor option module is used (the safe speed monitor option must be used with either the 20-750-UFB-1 module or with a dual incremental encoder with the catalog number 20-750-DENC-1). There are 2 status indicators on the 20-750-UFB-1 module: Indicator 1 is provided to display the status of the 20-750-UFB-1 module's board and Indicator 2 is provided to display the status of the DPI communication interface. DIP switches are provided on the 20-750-UFB-1 module for configuration, and when connecting feedback signals to the primary safety channel, the DIP switch settings will be S1 ON, S2 OFF, and S3 ON, when connecting feedback signals to the secondary safety channel the DIP switch, the settings will be S1 OFF, S2 ON, and S3 On. When connecting feedback signals to both the primary and secondary channel the DIP switch, the settings will be S1 ON, S2 ON, and S3 ON. When PowerFlex 755 drives are used as part of integration motion system, the 20-750-UFB-1 module can be used in different combinations. When 2 feedback options and I/O are used, the 20-750-UFB-1 module will be used in ports 4 to 6. When 2 feedback options, 1 safe torque-off option, and I/O are used, the 20-750-UFB-1 module can be used in ports 4 and 5. When 2 feedback options, 1 safe speed monitor option, and I/O are used, the 20-750-UFB-1 module can be used in ports 4 and 5.
The 20-750-UFB-1 is a Universal Feedback Encoder module by Allen-Bradley. This module is an accessory module that is used in compatibility with PowerFlex 755 drives along the Safe-speed monitor option module installed. This module may be installed with Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 755, PowerFlex 755TL and PowerFlex 755TR Adjustable Frequency AC Drives.
The 20-750-UFB-1 comes with one (1) input that supports differential or single-ended operation, constant current sink operation with a current rating of approximately 10 milliamperes. It has a minimum of 3.5 Volts DC and maximum of 7.5 Volts DC operating voltage and a sourcing current of 10 milliamperes. For connecting this module to the input source, the acceptable cable length is not to exceed 30 meters or 100 feet @ 5 Volts DC. Additionally, the maximum input frequency of the input signal must not exceed 250 Kilohertz.
Supported encoders by this module include Heidenhain (EnDat) with a supply voltage of 5 Volts at 250 milliamperes; High resolution signal of Sine/Cosine 1V P-P; maximum cable length 100 meters (328.1 feet); update rate of 102.4 µs and maximum input frequency of 163.8 Kilohertz. Similarly, SSI encoder, Stegmann (Hiperface), BiSS, Stahl (Linear), and Temposonics (Linear) encoder are supported as well.
The 20-750-UFB-1 is provided with three (3) sets of DIP switches intended for Safety Channel Selection. To set primary safety channel, set S1 sliders to ON; S2 sliders to OFF and S3 slider to ON. For secondary safety channel, set S1 sliders to OFF; S2 sliders to ON and S3 slider to ON. For primary and secondary safety channels, set S1 sliders to ON; S2 sliders to ON and S3 slider to ON.
