About 20-COMM-I
The 20-COMM-I adapter module is an interbus adapter by Allen-Bradley. It is part of the PowerFlex 70 series. It is an embedded communication module. The interbus adapter comes with status indicators, a DPI connector, a Bus In Interbus connector, and a Bus Out Interbus connector. The LED indicators are the Port, MOD, Net A, and Net B LEDs and they show the status of the drive. A 20-pin DPI connector is included with a male header. An interface cable is used to connect the adapter module with the connector on the drive. The communication adapter can be easily mounted on the drive by using screws to secure it in place. The 20-COMM-I module can help to configure different drives and human-machine interface modules. It supports logic commands and references that can be used to configure the applications. The interbus adapter supports explicit messages.
The 20-COMM-I adapter module is certified with different regulatory standards, including the UL, cUL, CE, and C-Tick standards. The 20-COMM-I module uses a user-defined fault action that handles different communication disruptions in the network. It is a second generation communication interface that can also be used as an enhancement to the SCANport. During the installation of the adapter, all electrostatic discharge should be cleared from the environment. The PowerFlex 70 drive that uses the adapter should be completely powered down before the adapter is installed. The 20-COMM-I module supports data rates of up to 500 K. The adapter comes with built-in diagnostics features that can help the operators find problems in the network connection.
