The 1305-BA02A is an Adjustable AC drive which is sometimes also referred to as a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) or Variable Speed Drive (VSD). The particular part number belong to the product family that is produced by Allen-Bradley for the primary purpose of controlling the speed of an AC motor.
In many applications, discrete control of a motor is not sufficient to maintain an efficient, accurate, cost-effective control. Especially in processes or machines that require high-speed, high-torque or constant torque control. An adjustable frequency AC drive, such as the 1305-BA02A can enable an AC motor previously controlled in discrete mode to have a variable speed, constant Torque output and be used in complex control techniques that require modulating control of devices.
