The Allen-Bradley 1398-PDM-050 is an Ultra Plus Positioning Servo Drive. It weighs 24.2 lb. Its peak shunt power is 10 kilowatts, its current shunt power is 900 Watts, its peak output current is 50A, and its continuous output current is 40A.
The 1398-PDM-050 provides an interface for 2 encoder feedback connections. Its input frequency is 750 kHz on the single channel (A or B) with a phase error of less than or equal to 45 degrees. The PDM will accept the differential and quadrature signal of the 5V incremental encoder.
The motor cables for the 1398-PDM-050 with the connectors are available in four standard lengths: 3, 7, 15, and 23 meters. This series operates in GML Ultra which is an exclusive Graphical Motion Control Language.
The 1398-PDM-050 drive uses the advanced microprocessor to control the power and velocity with the help of single processor. The drive eliminates problems related to the analog circuit such as thermal drift and offset drift. The 1398-PDM-050 drive can be a distributed motion control element which is integrated with the host computer in a flexible automation system and on the standalone programming motion controller.
Keep the drive in a clean and dry place with a normal temperature between 32-149o F with the relative humidity between 5 and 95%. Keep the 1398-PDM-050 away from any moisture and corrosion.
