sAbout 1336-FAN-SP2A
The 1336-FAN-SP2A is a cooling fan component that acts as the primary cooling device of the 1336 adjustable Frequency AC drive product family that is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This fan component is designed for use with 1336 Plus, 1336 Force, 1336 Impact, 1336 Plus Regen, and 1336 plus II drives, particularly drive sizes with D frame or power ratings of 60 HP, 75 HP, 100 HP, 125 HP, and X150 HP. The 1336-FAN-SP2A includes a CHB1 Fan capacitor and comes in black color. This fan is internally powered by a 115 VAC supply voltage with a current rating of 0.67 Ampere with a power rating of 75 Watt. This fan has 2550 rated revolutions per minute (rpm). The 1336-FAN-SP2A is designed to prevent drive overheating. A related drive parameter that can be used to determine the operation of the fan is the Overtemperature fault parameter 08. This drive fault refers to high heat sink temperature, exceeding a predefined value of 90 Degree Celsius or 195 Degree Fahrenheit. The 1336-FAN-SP2A is an obsolete component of the 1336 Series. It is classified by the manufacturer as a Level 3 Discrete component with recommended stocking locations including GTS. When replacing the existing fan with a new component, it is important to remove power from the drive to prevent the risk of electrocution. To maximize the effect of the 1336-FAN-SP2A cooling fan, the drive’s installation clearance must be met to ensure adequate airflow. Improper installation may lead to early deterioration of the drive and produce unusual high-temperature warnings which may affect the daily operation of the 1336-FAN-SP2A.
The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1336-FAN-SP2A is a cooling fan that belongs to Series C of the 1336 spare parts family from Rockwell Automation. The 1336-FAN-SP2A is designed for D frame drives and is KC certified. The fan is part of the RGU power structure where it is used in Series A RGU’s. An RGU (regenerative DC bus supply unit) acts as the regenerative front end of a common DC bus drive system where it facilitates bi-directional power flow between the common bus and the AC input (three-phase). Since the RGU is prone to heating up when in operation, the 1336-FAN-SP2A is used to keep the temperature regulated. Apart from cooling the regenerative unit, the 1336-FAN-SP2A is also used to cool the controllers which drive induction motors used in sensitive applications on the industrial floor. Note that only one 1336-FAN-SP2A cooling fan is required per every drive or any bus supply configuration. The 1336-FAN-SP2A can also be used as a fan replacement for Frame D 1336 VFDs. Major components that the 1336-FAN-SP2A provides cooling to are the heatsinks and memory modules which are prone to overheating. Before the 1336-FAN-SP2A is installed on the drive, it should first be tested for proper functioning including the direction of rotation as this will affect how effective it cools the system. For example, reverse rotation pulls air from the outside of the drive to inside the drive while rotating in the opposite direction will draw air from inside the drive to the outer space. Drawing air from the drive is likely to create a dry effect which will increase overheating.

Texnite provided a power supply module which saved our NYC power plant customer from an emergency outage. We placed our order late in the afternoon. Even though it was well past their same day shipping cutoff time, Texnite still made an extra effort to ship our order immediately and the module arrived before 8am the following morning.
