sAbout 1336-BDB-SP72D
The 1336-BDB-SP72D by Allen-Bradley is part of the PCB Gate Drive Board series and it has been engineered for working with adjustable frequency AC drives. This board has the ability to operate with 460V AC voltage and it also has a horsepower rating of 250 HP. This board has several modules, each of them being able to fit effectively into frame sizes A, B, C, D, or E. The 1336-BDB-SP72D board features brake chopper modules which need to be installed in a proper way so that they can provide maximum performance. The first basic instruction that needs to be kept in mind is installing the brake chopper in a vertical position since this is vital and then all the other instructions can be followed.
A minimum clearance of 152.4 mm should be allowed in between the brake chopper modules while installing the brake chopper of the 1336-BDB-SP72D board. The brake modules in question are the ones which are inside the enclosure. The brake resistor banks should then be mounted externally to the enclosure on a surface which is non-combustible. There is a need for mounting all the modules exactly within 10 ft. (3 m) of the chopper module if the brake chopper requires more than one module. All the other enclosures left must be determined by the user. The minimum distance between each resistor bank should also be determined because all of them are application-dependent.
Each brake chopper module in this board houses a thermostat which protects the board against component damage and overheating. The user must set Parameter 11 to a “disabled” state when dynamic braking is installed on the 1336-BDB-SP72D board. The drive should also be programmed for “ramp-to-stop” during braking deceleration. There is a fault contact that has been provided for all the brake module ratings. This fault contact provides a remote output signal.
