sAbout 1336-BDB-SP28C
The Allen-Bradley 1336-BDB-SP28C (Series C) gate drive PCB is a printed circuit gate driver board for the 1336 Force, Impact, Plus II, and Plus AC drive families. This board provides high input gate control, and it is located beside the main control board and the chassis. The 1336-BDB-SP28C PCB is shipped as a gate drive board assembly comprising one gate drive board, and an installation kit that includes fastening screws and an installation manual. The 1336-BDB-SP28C PCB is compatible with the A and B Series boards, and it has since been replaced with the newer 1336-BDB-SP28D PCB. The 1336-BDB-SP28C PCB is suitable for the D-frame 1336 Force, Impact, Plus II, and Plus drives with 460 Volts AC voltage ratings and 60 Horsepower output ratings.
The 1336-BDB-SP28C PCB should be tested for optimal conditions whenever one or more of the modules are replaced. Testing is done by using a meter that is first set to the resistance mode and tested for open conditions on fuses 1 and 3, and then it is set to diode mode and the technicians compare the readings with standard table readings. To replace the gate drive board, it is recommended to first turn off the power and check for the absence of control voltage and for zero voltage at the +DC and –DC brake terminals. After that, open the drive enclosure and remove the control board mounting plate. Disconnect the 7 jumper connectors on the board and wires at terminal strips TB7 and TB4. Remove the screws fastening the board to the mounting plate and detach the old board. Replace the old board with a new one and reconnect the drive in the reverse order of the replacement process.
