sAbout 1336-BDB-SP18D
The Allen-Bradley 1336-BDB-SP18D AC drive is an adjustable frequency drive. This product is a member of the Allen-Bradley 1336 series of PCB Gate Drive Board. This board has modules which fit in frames with sizes of A, B, C, D, or E. Its alternative part number is 74101-482-52 and it operates at 460V AC. It also puts out 50 HP. The 1336-BDB-SP18D board has a brake chopper module which should be installed while following the instructions. The brake chopper needs to be installed in a vertical position.
While installing the brake chopper of the 1336-BDB-SP18D board, a minimum clearance of 152.4 mm should be allowed between the brake modules which are inside an enclosure and this includes the drive and all the other equipment. All the brake resistor banks should also be externally mounted to the enclosure on a non-combustible surface. If the brake chopper requires more than one module, then all the modules have to be mounted exactly within 10 ft. (3.0 m) of the chopper module. The users must determine all the other enclosures and equipment and the minimum distance between each resistor bank because they are all application-dependent.
Each brake chopper module contained in the 1336-BDB-SP18D board contains a thermostat. The function of the thermostat is to protect the board against component damage and overheating. When dynamic braking is installed in this drive, the user must set Parameter 11 to “disabled”. During braking for deceleration, the users must ensure that the drive has been programmed for “ramp-to-stop”. Braking for overhauling loads may be stop-mode specific or not. A fault contact has been provided for all brake module ratings to provide a remote output signal.
