Allen Bradley 1336-BDB-SP17D

The Allen-Bradley 1336-BDB-SP17D PCB Gate Driver Board is a PCB gate driver board that is made for use with the Allen-Bradley 1336 PLUS, FORCE, IMPACT, and PLUS II drives, and it is located directly underneath the 1336 drive’s main control board. Its purpose is to amplify low current inputs from the base driver board’s power supply board. The 1336-BDB-SP17D gate driver board is designed for an operating voltage of 460V AC (3-phase), and its board power rating is 40HP. It has 7 jumper connectors that are labeled J2, J6, J7, J8, J9, J10, and J13 and they are for connection to the 1336 drive’s main control board, and the PCB gate driver board has terminal blocks called T4, T6, and T7, with TB4 used as a 24V DC auxiliary input.

The 1336-BDB-SP17D is installed on the drive’s main control board mounting plate, using the steps below. (1) Attach the 1336-BDB-SP17D to the standoffs, (2) Fasten the PCB board to the main mounting plate by turning the 8 standoffs screws in ¼ clockwise direction, with a fastener torque of 26lb-in (3N-m), (3) Connect the J2 through J13 connectors to the 1336-BDB-SP17D PCB Gate Driver Board, (4) Attach the main control board (with the PCB gate driver board attached) to the drive, and turn on the drive for operation. The 1336-BDB-SP17D is tested for good working conditions using the test meter, and Fuses F1 and F3 on the gate driver board are tested for open conditions. The board is also tested by setting the test meter to diode mode and testing VR1 through VR6, and the reading on the meter is compared to standard table readings.
