Allen Bradley 1336-BDB-SP13E

The 1336-BDB-SP13E is a Gate Driver PC Board from Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley. The board helps to interface with various devices with adjustable frequency drives which belong to the 1336F family. The 1336-BDB-SP13E is meant to be used in drives that control motors with a Horsepower capacity of 15 Horsepower and have a B2 frame type. Before mounting the 1336-BDB-SP13E Main Control Board on the drive, a mounting plate is first installed, then the gate driver board is placed on top. The board allows connections to other parts inside the variable frequency drives, using the onboard connectors and terminal strips. The adjustable frequency drive using the 1336-BDB-SP13E Gate Driver PC Board will display a fault if the base driver board requires re-initialization, which can only be achieved by resetting the drive to factory defaults and cycling the input power.

If this error persists, after the procedure, the main board should be replaced and in extreme situations, the entire drive should be replaced. Additionally, the drive will display a DSP checksum error if there is a communication breakdown between the DSP and main processor located on the 1336-BDB-SP13E board. The DSP checksum fault is rectified by resetting the drive to the factory default or replacing the gate driver board. When installing the 1336-BDB-SP13E, tightening screws should not exceed a torque of 3 N-m. Observe that power to the drive should only be reconnected after the 1336-BDB-SP13E has been installed and properly checked for the correct connections. Failure to ascertain the connection is likely to lead to the damage of the gate driver PC board.
