The 1398-PDM-010 drive is an Ultra Plus drive from Allen-Bradley. The Ultra Plus drive family is a drive family which provides drives with high-performance positioners and a brushless drive in 1 unit. The 1398-PDM-010 drive is a microprocessor-based drive which uses an 80C196KC microprocessor clocked at 20 Megahertz. The hardware watchdog rating is 0.016 seconds. Feedback is provided through an incremental encoder. The input frequency for the encoder is 750 kilohertz. The maximum pulse input frequency is 800 kilohertz.
The analog I/O on the 1398-PDM-010 drive includes one 12-bit DAC output, one 8-bit DAC programmable monitor input, and one 10-bit ADC input. Digital I/O on the drive include 16 general-purpose inputs, 8 general-purpose outputs, and 2 dedicated normally-open relays. The continuous output power for the 1398-PDM-010 drive is 1 kilowatt. The continuous and peak output current per phase for the drive are 5 Amps and 10 Amps, respectively. The drive operates on single-phase input at 115 to 240 Volts AC.
