About 1398-DDM-005X-DN

The Allen-Bradley 1398-DDM-005X-DN Digital Servo Drive belongs to the Ultra 100 Digital Servo Drive Series. With a DeviceNet interface card, the drive can connect to a DeviceNet network. The default baud rate of the DeviceNet is 125kps for addressing the number of drives not exceeding 32 with a power consumption of 60 milliamperes. The drive weighs 1.68kg (3.7lbs). This mass is inclusive of the 0.16kg (0.35lbs) of the DeviceNet interface card.

The 1398-DDM-005X-DN’s RS-485 and RS-232 are ports of serial communication through which the drive is addressed at a baud rate ranging from 1200-19,200 baud.

This indexing drive requires 5 amperes of continuous input current, a single-phase input nominal RMS voltage of 88-265V DC (100-240V AC) and an input frequency of 47-63 Hertz to produce a peak current of 7.5 amperes as well as a continuous current of 2.5 amperes. The output power is 500W. The 1398-DDM-005X-DN drive needs an AC input current of 5A AC RMS and an inrush current of 75A peak. In accordance with the United States National Electrical Code, a fuse of size 0.15cm, and a transformer of size 1kVA min (100kVA max) should be chosen.

The 1398-DDM-005X-DN drive is equipped with either the 4-wire RS-485 or RS-232 communication devices, which rely on an asynchronous serial format of a standard non-return to zero (NRZ). You can shift from RS-232 to RS-485 communication and vice versa by simply changing the cable. A configuration of the pin-out self-senses either the RS-485 or the RS-232 protocol of communication. Address 0 is the address of a factory default drive.
