Allen Bradley 1336-MOD-KC050 Used Surplus

The Allen-Bradley 1336-MOD-KC050 is a Series D heavy-duty dynamic brake for use with 1336 drives that have a 500 to 600V AC voltage range because it has a voltage rating of 500/575/600V AC. The primary function of dynamic brakes is to increase the drive’s braking torque capacity, particularly from 20% to 100%. These brakes also dissipate excessive power in the brake resistors, with the brake only turning on when it needs to do excessive energy dissipation, monitors its DC bus, and allows parallel operation when the drive needs at least one brake. The 1336-MOD-KC050 dynamic brake is the only brake that is equipped with a DC power light, aside from the “Brake On” light standard to all dynamic brakes, which activates when the DC bus voltage of the drive is more than 40V DC.

The drive ratings of the 1336-MOD-KC050 dynamic brake is C040 to C060 and it has an enclosure rating of NEMA Type 1, IP20. Note that this brake, like other dynamic brakes, should be separately mounted from a 1336 drive and it should only be placed in an area that is free from any corrosives or hazardous vapor, dust, or gas. This brake has a typical braking torque of 100% torque for 20 seconds, as well as a typical duty cycle of 20%. It also features circuits and internal cooling fans, which require the user to provide an additional power supply of 115V AC at 50/60 Hz. Make sure to operate the 1336-MOD-KC050 brake at a room temperature ranging from -10 to 50 °C and at an altitude of no more than 1000 m or 3300 ft. to avoid derating.
