sAbout 1336-GM6
This is a communication adapter that is installed directly to the 1336 drive’s main board. This communication adapter may also be included as a pre-installed option when ordering a 1336 drive by including “GM6” suffix at the end of the part number. Example part number would be 1336x - xxxxxx-xx-xx-GM6.
This adapter eliminates the need of using an external gateway such as 1336-GU6 as this adapter directly goes into the 1336 drive. The adapter connects the SCANport product via the internal SCANport connector.
The 1203-GM6 has selectable transmission speeds of 125 Kbps, 250 Kbps, and 500 Kbps with a capability of detecting the network speed automatically through the Autobaud capability.
Additionally, this adapter supports flash upgrade to make the adapter compatible to the required function needed.
This communication adapter features built-in diagnostic LEDs to indicate the DeviceNet and SCANport communication status. Devicenet connection is established through the embedded 5-pin Phoenix connector while SCANport connectivity is established through the 14-Pin connector that directly attached to the 1336 drive’s circuitry. Since this hardware is an adapter module, it requires a scanner component which is typically a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).
The 1336-GM6 is an Enhanced DeviceNet Adapter communications module manufactured by Allen Bradley for the 1336 series of variable frequency drives. The 1336-GM6 measures 114 millimeters in width, 711 millimeters in height, and 127 millimeters in depth. The weight of 1336-GM6 is around 51 grams and the 1336-GM6 is to be operated in a temperature range of 0 to 55 degrees Celsius, while the recommended storage temperature is between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius. The power consumption of this device is around 150 mA at 5 Volts or 60 mA at 24 Volts. The 1336-GM6 module is also compliant to UL 508 and CUL, as per the European Union EMC and Low Voltage Directives. It is to be mounted directly to the selected SCAN port, via the internal SCAN port connector and is used to connect to the DeviceNet network. The 1336-GM6 features flash upgradability for field updates as well as a change of state capabilities. It has a 5 pin Phoenix connector for the module to be attached to the DeviceNet Network and a 1 pin SCAN port connector which provides the power and the communication to the SCAN port communication circuit. The bicolor status LEDs provide information and statuses about the DeviceNet and SCANport connection module. To install the 1336-GM6 board, first turn off the power supply to the device and verify that no power is running through the network. Then screw the four nylon standoff headers on the main control board and insert the pins on the 1336-GM6 to the 14 pin SCAN port of the drive. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver and the mounting screws, screw the board back and ensure that it is not too tight. Attach the wires to the DeviceNet connector.
