sAbout 1305-BA02A-HAP
The 1305-BA02A-HAP 3-phase AC Drive, manufactured by Allen Bradley, does not come with a speed-sensitive surplus guard, thermal memory retention or terms to act upon motor over-temperature sensing. If this type of protection is warranted, it must be provided by additional parts or means.
The 1305-BA02A-HAP drive is built to withstand most of the internally generated intervention and, most of the times, no additional precautions are needed outside of those mentioned in the unit’s manual during the installation process. Because the 1305-BA02A-HAP DC drive can generate severe electrical transient, the coils of DC energized contactors allied with drives should be controlled and contained with the help of some diode or similar device so as to prevent any possible casualty. Due to its potentially harmful nature, in case of using in areas with frequent lightning, additional preventive measures must be implied.
The 1305-BA02A-HAP drive is well suited for connections with the correct voltage (380 to 460 Volts), single or three phase AC power line, but there remains the slim possibility of a power input drive malfunction due to the power line faulting. However, the danger can be alleviated with the introduction of a line reactor or isolation type transformer that has a 3% drive input impudence. On the contrary, before introducing any of the said transformers or malfunction reduction tools the user should determine if any such measures are actually necessary. Some cases where this might be true are first if the module’s AC line has power factor alteration capacitors containing in and out switching systems, then having an AC line reactor or isolation type transformer between the capacitor and input drive may be necessary. Secondly, if the AC line is experiencing recurring temporary power disruption or high voltage spikes, then it may require an AC line reactor or isolation type transformer to stabilize. In both cases, the drives are at risk of minimal damage due to the change of voltage and equipment.
This module’s enclosure type is the IP 30 NEMA Type 1 enclosure. It has a .55 kW motor rating with 1.8 Amperes, a .75 Horsepower, and its HIM (Human Interface Module) is “Programmer-Only”.
